Jeremiah 30:23-24 See what a scorching wind has gone out from the Lord. A whirlwind that sweeps around the heads of the wicked. Y’hovah’s anger is not to be turned aside until He has fully accomplished His purpose.
Jeremiah 30:4-7 This is what Y’hovah says to Israel and Judah: We have heard a cry of terror, of fear without relief, every face turns pale. How awful is that Day, there has been none like it. It is a time of anguish for Jacob, yet he will come through it safely.
My comments: This describes the Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, the next prophesied event, in the near future. It will clear the way for His people, righteous Israel to gather and settle in New Israel.
Jeremiah 30:1-3 Y’hovah, the God of Israel, tells Jeremiah to write His words: The time is coming, when I shall restore the fortunes of My people, both Judah and Israel, and bring them back to take possession of the Land which I gave to their ancestors.
Jeremiah 30:8-11 In that Day, says Y’hovah, I shall break the yoke of servitude off their necks, they will serve only Me and David, their King, raised up for them. Do not be afraid, Israel, My servants, for I shall bring you back safe from afar, all your posterity from the lands where they are now. You will be at rest once more, secure and untroubled, for I am with you, to save you. The nations will be punished and you too, will be disciplined as you deserve.
Jeremiah 30:12-17 Israel and Judah punished for their sins by exile among the nations. Yet all who despoiled you will themselves be despoiled, I will heal your wounds.
Jeremiah 30:18-20 Y’hovah says: I shall restore the fortunes of all Israel and show my love for his dwellings. Cities and houses will be rebuilt where they once were. From them, praise and merrymaking will be heard. My people will increase and be honoured, their oppressors will be punished.
Jeremiah 30:21-22 A ruler will appear, one of themselves, a governor will arise from among them. I will bring him near and let him approach Me.
So you will be My people and I shall be your God. Ref: REB. Verses abridged.
Jeremiah 30:24b In days to come, you will understand.
My comments: These wonderful promises to His servants, righteous Israel – their fortunes restored, brought back safely from afar, to take possession of their Land, secure and untroubled, cities and houses rebuilt, they will increase and be honoured.
It is not hard to imagine, the ‘praise and merrymaking’ of His people after such amazing promises are fulfilled.
The King mentioned in Jer 30:9 will be Jesus, after His Return. But, before the Return, ‘a leader will appear, one of themselves’, he will be able to approach Y’hovah in the same way as Moses did, so long ago.
People who are descendants of all the 12 tribes of Israel, will live in peace and prosperity in the Land of Greater Israel, after the clearance brought about by the day of the Lord. You know the story.....
Isaiah 24:1-6 Beware, the Lord is about to strip the earth, split it and turn it upside down and scatter its inhabitants. Everyone will be affected.
The earth dries up and withers, it is desecrated by those who live in it. They have broken My Laws and violated My covenant, that is why a curse consumes the earth and its peoples suffer, their numbers dwindle, only a few are left.
[The Lords Day of vengeance and wrath strikes the earth, punishing all its inhabitants. Isaiah 63:1-6, Revelation 6:12-17.]
Isaiah 24:7-13 Crops fail, the people are sad and anxious. Their cities are in chaos and their houses shuttered and locked. Nothing but desolation is left in the towns, the bridges and highways are destroyed. So it will be throughout the world, among the nations, as an olive tree is beaten and stripped.
[Cities and towns will become uninhabitable – no food, power or water and roads impassable. “Suddenly, in a single Day” is mentioned in Isaiah 10:7 & Isaiah 47:9 All the nations of the world face the sun over a 24hr period. A massive coronal mass ejection could strike all the earth in one rotation. Isaiah 30:26]
Isaiah 24:14-16a People from the West and the East, acclaim the Lord. In the coasts and islands of the sea, we hear them sing- from the ends of the earth, glorifying the God of Israel.
[As Isaiah 30:26 says: ‘On that Day, I will save My people’. They will praise Y’hovah for their salvation. Isaiah 66:8.]

Iisrael and Judah rejoined and restored
ISRAEL AND JUDAH REJOINED AND RESTORED Bruce McKerras May 2011
Most Christians have been taught for years that the church has replaced Israel as the chosen nation, taking over her mission in the world. The many prophetic passages that promise the full and complete restoration of ALL the twelve tribes back to the Land, have been allegorized and applied, either to the church or to salvation in heaven.
Such a dramatic change to God’s plan, is not indicated in the New Testament or by the early church leaders. The idea of the church replacing Israel, is one that has evolved only in recent times.
The Bible tells how the House of Israel [the Northern 10 tribes] and subsequently, the House of Judah [the Jews] were taken into exile because of their sins. Y’hovah hid His face from them. Deut 31:17-18, Deut 32:20, Micah 3:4.
However this ‘hiding of His face’ is neither rejection or replacement. Actually, the very purpose of the exile is to prepare for the full restoration of ALL Israel. Exile is always understood as a discipline, for a set period of time. When Moses mentions the exile, he then gives the promise of the restoration. Deuteronomy 30:1-14.
These promises were given to all the people of Israel. The 10 lost tribes, having lost their identity as God planned it, will rejoin with their brother, Judah.
The prophets consistently and carefully distinguish between the two ‘Houses’. This separation and eventual restoration is the major theme of all the prophecy.
Israel [that is the 10 tribes] is scattered among the nations, as many ‘as the sands of the sea’ and they think of themselves as Gentiles, but God says ‘not a pebble will be lost’. Amos 9:9. They will surely return, to Judah and to the Land. Micah 4:6-7
God’s promises to all Israel are absolute and unconditional. There are over forty separate passages in Bible prophecy which deal specifically, in great detail with this great story of the regathering and settling of His people, righteous Israel into all the area given to Abraham, so long ago. Genesis 13:14-17.
These Bible texts cannot be ignored or spiritualized if one wishes to seriously interpret scripture. They have never been fulfilled in the past, not in 515BC, when a few thousand Jews came back to a small portion of the Land, nor yet in our day. The establishment of the Jewish state of Israel in 1948 is a ‘firstfruit’ sign of what is to come. The Prophets tell how Judah will return first, and their return is a concrete proof of how God has not and will not cast off His people – including the 10 lost tribes.
The prophet Jeremiah says: Israel is holy to the Lord, the firstfruits of His harvest. This image of the firstfruits relates to the symbolic meaning of Israel’s holy days and the harvest seasons, as set out in Leviticus 23. The Plan of God will be realised through the ‘great nation’ as promised to the Patriarchs’, then the full harvest will follow. There is nothing racist about this Plan, it is a matter for God to use those who He has determined and prepared for His purposes, thus fulfilling His promises. As God Himself declares: This restoration of all Israel will be a vindication of His holy Name. Ezekiel 39:27.

The wisdom of Elihu the Buzite
Job 31:2-4 What is the lot [for mankind] prescribed by God above? Is it not disaster for the wrongdoer? God Himself sees my ways and takes account of every step.
Job 31:5-6 I swear- I have had no dealings with falsehood. I have taken an oath, never to let my eyes linger on a girl. Let God weigh me in the scales of justice and He will know that I am blameless.
Job 34:10-11 But listen to me, you people of good sense. Far be it from God to do evil. For He requites everyone according to their actions and sees that each gets the reward their conduct deserves.
Job 34:31-32 Suppose you were to say to God; I have overstepped the mark, but I will do no more wrong. I am contemptible, grant me guidance. Will He, at those words forgive your rejection of Him?
Job 35:9-12 People cry out under the weight of oppression and call for help against the power of their oppressors. But none of them asks; Where is God, my maker? who gives protection and grants knowledge. So, when they cry out, He does not answer because they are proud and wicked, All to no purpose, the Almighty takes no notice.
Job 36:13-14 The proud rage against Him and refuse to ask Him for help when caught in troubles, so they die in their prime – short lived as male prostitutes.
Job 36:15 Those who suffer He rescues through suffering and teaches them by the discipline of affliction.
Job 37:19-20 Teach us, then what to say to God, for all is dark and we cannot marshal our thoughts. Should He be told what it is I want to speak? Surely I would be swallowed up.
Job 37:21 Now, no one can look at the sun, bright as it is in the skies after the wind has swept them clean.
Job 37:22 Out of the North, He comes in golden splendour and awesome majesty.
Job 37:23 The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power, yet in His great righteousness, He does not pervert justice.
Job 37:24 Therefore, mortals pay Him reverence and all who are wise fear Him.

My comments ; The Book of Job teaches us a lot about how God interacts with His creation. In chapter 31, Job protests his innocence, then the discourse of Elihu says that God requites everyone according to their deeds.

The earth is my footdtool
Isaiah 66:1-2 These are the words of the Lord: The heavens are My throne and the earth is My footstool. All this is My own making and belongs to Me. Those who revere My word are oppressed and afflicted.
Isaiah 66:3-4 People have adopted loathsome practices, so I shall bring to them that which they fear. No one listened to Me and they chose what displeased Me.
Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the Lord, you that revere His word: Your kinsmen hate you because you follow My ways. They say: “Let the Lord show His glory. We do not believe in God”. 2Peter 3:3-4 But they will be put to shame. Amos 9:10
Isaiah 66:6 The noise and distress you hear is the Lord, dealing retribution to His foes.
Isaiah 66:7-9 Zion has been born a son, before any labour pains. Who has heard of such a thing? Can a nation be born in a single day? Shall I bring to the point of birth and not deliver? I, the Lord, will deliver her children.
Isaiah 66:10-11 Rejoice with Jerusalem, all you who love her, for you will be comforted and shall delight in her abundance. Obadiah 19-21

My people will be glad and will flourish like the grass in springtime. The Lord will make His power known among His servants and His indignation felt among His enemies. V1-2 God is the maker and owner of all things. Those people who love Him and follow His ways are oppressed and afflicted. As is the situation in many parts of the world today.
V 3-6 The enemies of the Lord will be judged and punished. His righteous people will rejoice at the sight. Psalm 58:10-11
V 7-9 “Can a nation be born in a single day?” This passage has been quoted extensively about the current Jewish State of Israel. It cannot apply to them, as it took at least 50 years for Israel to come to fruition, with great expense and difficulties.
To say that the present Jewish State was formed in one day, the day it was declared, is a pretentious statement. But the prophecies, yet to be fulfilled, about how His people – righteous Israel, will return to the Land, confirms that these verses belong to them. Jer 30:8,
Isaiah 29:5-6...suddenly in an instant, your enemies will be destroyed.
Isaiah 30:26.....on that Day, I will save My people.

Gog from Magog
What are Gog and Magog?
Historically, Magog was a grandson of Noah. Genesis 10:2. The descendants of Magog settled to the north of Israel, in Asia. They are described as skilled warriors by Ezekiel
Gog, from Magog will be the leader of a great army from Northern regions, that will attack Israel in the latter days. Ezekiel 38 & 39, Revelation 20:7-8. While these two instances both mention Gog, a close study of Scripture shows that they do not refer to the same people and events. The first attack, described in Ezekiel 38 & 39, cannot occur during the Millennium, and is quite different from the attack by the Anti Christ at the time of the Return of Jesus. [Armageddon] Therefore, it must happen before then. The strongest evidence for when Gog attacks, is when Israel is at peace and have laid down their defenses. Eze 38:8 & 11. The Jewish State of Israel is currently threatened with war on all sides, but after the next event in the Middle East, as described in Psalm 83 and many other prophecies, then when His people, righteous Israel, settle into the Land – the Lord promises their peace and security. According to Ezekiel and in Joel 2:20, Gog will be destroyed on the mountains of Israel. The slaughter will be so great, it will take seven months to bury the dead. Eze 39:11-12.
Gog and Magog are mentioned again at the end of the Millennium. This use of their names is to show that these armies demonstrate the same rebellion and antagonism against God, as those in Ezekiel. It is the same as calling someone a name to portray another character similar to their actions. This final, last ditch attack on the Lord and His people, by Satan, results his being thrown into the lake of fire and his army from around the world, being instantly cremated.
An interesting aspect of the attack and destruction of Gog and his army against New Israel is the burning of the weapons for fuel, enough for 7 years. Rifle stocks and many other items, such as mortar bases are made of lignostone – a compressed wood/plastic composite.
This is lighter than steel and cheaper than aluminium. It burns better than coal.
Also this 7 year period, gives us the clue that Gog’s attack will happen at least at the commencement of the 70th “week” of Daniel, but because of the Tribulation, etc, of that time, it seems logical that it will be some years before that.

The first attack, described in Ezekiel 38 & 39, cannot occur during the Millennium, and is quite different from the attack by the Anti Christ at the time of the Return of Jesus. [Armageddon] Therefore, it must happen before then. The strongest evidence for when Gog attacks, is when Israel is at peace and have laid down their defenses. Eze 38:8 & 11. The Jewish State of Israel is currently threatened with war on all sides, but after the next event in the Middle East, as described in Psalm 83 and many other prophecies, then when His people, righteous Israel, settle into the Land – the Lord promises their peace and security. According to Ezekiel and in Joel 2:20, Gog will be destroyed on the mountains of Israel. The slaughter will be so great, it will take seven months to bury the dead. Eze 39:11-12.
Gog and Magog are mentioned again at the end of the Millennium. This use of their names is to show that these armies demonstrate the same rebellion and antagonism against God, as those in Ezekiel. It is the same as calling someone a name to portray another character similar to their actions. This final, last ditch attack on the Lord and His people, by Satan, results his being thrown into the lake of fire and his army from around the world, being instantly cremated.
An interesting aspect of the attack and destruction of Gog and his army against New Israel is the burning of the weapons for fuel, enough for 7 years. Rifle stocks and many other items, such as mortar bases are made of lignostone – a compressed wood/plastic composite.
This is lighter than steel and cheaper than aluminium. It burns better than coal.
Also this 7 year period, gives us the clue that Gog’s attack will happen at least at the commencement of the 70th “week” of Daniel, but because of the Tribulation, etc, of that time, it seems logical that it will be some years before that.

Fulfilment of the promise
Zechariah 9:14-17 The Lord will appear over them [Israel and Judah] He will protect them and they will prevail against their enemies. On that day, their God will save them, for they are His precious flock.
Joel 3:1-2 When that time comes, on that Day, when I reverse the fortunes of My people – I shall judge the nations, for they have scattered Israel, My own people and shared out My Land.
Isaiah 30:26-28 On the Day the Lord heals His people, the sun will shine with seven times its normal brightness and the moon will be as bright as the sun. Then the Lord will sieve the nations for destruction.
Isaiah 31:4-5 The Lord will come to Mount Zion, like a hovering bird, He will shield and protect Jerusalem, sparing and rescuing her.
Isaiah 25:9 On that day the people will say: See, this is our God, we have waited for Him and He will deliver us. Let us rejoice and exult in His deliverance.
Ezekiel 28:24-25 No longer will the Israelites suffer the scorn of their neighbours. The Lord says: When I gather the Israelites from the peoples amongst whom they are dispersed, I shall show My Holiness in them for all the nations to see. They will live on their own soil, that I had given to My servant, Jacob.
Jeremiah 33:6-8 Now I shall bring healing and care for Judah and Israel, they will see lasting peace and security. I shall cleanse them of all their sins that they committed in rebellion against Me.
Nahum 1:15 There on the mountains is the one who proclaims the good news. Fulfil your vows, Judah, never again will the wicked overrun you. They are totally destroyed.
Psalm 50:1-6 The Lord has spoken and summoned all of His people in the world for judgement. Gather to Me, My loyal servants, all who by sacrifice have made a covenant with Me.
Isaiah 65:9 I shall give descendants to Jacob [all Israel] and to Judah, heirs who will possess My Land. My chosen ones will inherit it and those who serve Me will live there. Ref: REB, NIV,KJV. Verses abridged
My comments; These verses say how the Lord will act “on the Day He saves His people”. This will all occur at least 10 years before the Return of Jesus, before the rise of the AC. and the Trib.

Ezekiel says: The neighbours of Israel will be judged and punished. After that, His people, righteous Israel, will gather and settle in the Land. They will be a “light to the nations”.
Jeremiah says: Judah and Israel will be cleansed of their sins and will join together to live in peace and security in the Land.
Nahum says: As in Malachi 4:5, Elijah will proclaim the good news. Keep faithful and the Lord will protect His people. Isaiah says: My chosen people will inherit the Land.
Psalm 50: The Lord will gather His loyal servants.
